Before the end of the first world war, which proliferated the use of wristwatches, the most popular timekeeping instrument amongst gentlemen of the upper class intelligentsia would have been watches such as the present Patek Philippe. Cased in yellow gold with beautiful white enamel dial and painted Breguet numerals, this is as elegant and classical as it gets for Patek Philippe of the period. Importantly, this watch is accompanied by its original certificate and box, which is extremely rare to find for a watch of this age.

The enamel dial is free from cracks, with small specks near the central handstack, within the sub-dial and around the 8 o'clock numeral. The case is in very good condition especially for its age, with minor surface wear, remaining very well proportioned with a crisp hallmark on the pendant. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion.
