Case diameter is one measurement
Case diameter is usually measured across the case without the crown. It is useful for comparison, but two watches with the same diameter can wear differently because of bezel width, dial opening, case shape and bracelet design.
Consider thickness and lug-to-lug length
Thickness affects how a watch sits under a cuff. Lug-to-lug length indicates how far the case extends along the wrist and can be more useful than diameter for judging overhang. Use the measurements published for the specific reference whenever they are available.
Bracelet and strap fit
Bracelet sizing depends on the links supplied and the adjustment range of the clasp. Strap fit depends on strap length, hole positions and wrist shape. Ask which links or strap components accompany a pre-owned piece before ordering.
A practical comparison
Measure a watch that already fits you and compare its diameter, thickness and lug-to-lug length with the product specifications. Personal preference matters; dimensions help narrow the choice but do not replace trying on a similar case when possible.
